On Pride, and Our Newest Capsule Collection
Pride month is here, Creeps! It’s a time to celebrate our identities and our right to be ourselves openly and unapologetically. Our newest capsule collection comes out of that desire, and with its release, we wanted to share a little bit about where this collection comes from and what it means to us.
LGBTQIA+ representation in our community is important and something we think about. Creepy Co.’s Pride collection is responding to a stated need by our fans: Last year, we first shared our illustration of Bosco “Boz” Bloodworth with a rainbow flag cape in a social media post celebrating Pride to the overwhelming support of our fans and requests for Pride items.
Honestly, it’s a collection we’ve wanted to create for a long time and we didn’t see a reason to wait any longer to make it a reality. But our support of the Community it celebrates and those who uplift it does not last merely one month out of the year.
As a company and individuals, we are active members and supporters of that Community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our CEO is a lesbian who has been a part of the Chicago LGBT+ Community since the early 90s. For her, the creation of Creepy Co. was rooted in identities that are traditionally othered and celebrating what makes us different.
As such, Creepy Co. is building several local and national charitable partnerships and implementing a donation platform as part of the core of our business model year-round. Please stay tuned in coming months for updates and announcements about these and other changes. They are well underway, and while expensive and time consuming, we have determined they are worth it. We look forward to sharing these developments with you when they’re ready to be announced.
We’re so excited to celebrate and wear our Creepy colors with you through the rest of June and every day that follows.
